Could anyone tell me basically how to operate the Cell Sensor EMF meters or the GhostMeters? I've never used this type before and I haven't got an instruction manual.....I know how to "use" them in the field...But I need to know basically how to turn it on and stuff...HAHA. Sorry for the lame question.Ok, to clarify - No, I don't believe EMF detectors can find ghosts....but I do believe that paranormal phenomena can be "debunked" in some cases where there are unshielded, high electromagnetic fields...which can cause all kinds of interesting problems for people. That is why *I* use EMF detectors. To debunk ghosts...not to find them.

The one I have has a high / low switch on the side (set on high) and a extension pickup. Hold the pickup out and check for EMF around the area. It's not real good for picking up ghost activity but real good for finding man made EMF sources. If you move the pickup to fast you get false readings. You can find strong paranormal EMF sources. It is not that sensitive in all areas, designed to pick up man made EMF. The K-2 is better and the Trifield is the best. Here is a good site to checkout---http://www.ghostgadgets.com/_knowledge/emfmeters.htmlWhen ever you go into a house to investigate always do a back ground EMF test first. Note where hot spots are like appliances, computer equipment and electrical panels. Then if anything changes you'll know what it was before. I have found some interesting things with mine. It's good for the price. I think I paid $20 for mine.

You'd think there'd be a website, but I couldn't find one. Hmm.Are you an electrician? Why else would you be using an EMF meter? You don't think those things actually detect ghosts do you? If so, can I ask you on what you are basing this assumption?EDIT: Fair enough. I respect your approach. However, EMFs strong enough to create the feeling of being watched aren't commonly found in houses. In addition, in finding a powerful EMF you are looking into a plausible explanation for why someone might feel strange. How often do people request investigation because they feel strange? Isn't more likely they are reporting other "events"?

Surely an EMF reader is a very simple device, most of which will just be made up of a sensor of some kind and an output box.

The higher the reading on the box the higher the level of electromagntic energy in any given area.

If your serious about it buying some $20 toy is not going to do you any good, because you need to be able to pinpoint exact areas acting as electromagnetic hotspots.

For that you need to invest some serious money into a good reader, which should come with instructions.
